Sweat rate testing

When combined with your carbohydrate and sodium requirements, the type of training you are doing, and your environment, your sweat rate can provide valuable  information for creating your hydration plan. Here’s how to test your sweat rate.

  1. Weigh yourself in minimal clothing
  2. Go for a run at your race intensity
  3. Record exactly how long you run for
  4. Record exactly how much you drink
  5. Don’t go to the toilet during your run
  6. Towel yourself completely dry, and weigh yourself in the same amount of clothing as you did initially.
  7. Email me your run time, how much you drunk, and your pre and post race weight, and I will provide you with a nutrition plan based on your sweat rate.
